Paintings

Back almost 12,000 years, Loreto is considered the oldest human settlement in the Baja California North and South Peninsula. To this day, some extraordinary cave paintings and petroglyphs can be seen. These paintings are lavish rock murals with spectacular human and animal figures representing this way of life, ceremonies, rituals, pilgrimages, hunts or battles, making them truly fascinating displays of the communication style of primitive man.
